TL;DR

This Director role at Ideals involves shaping the overall story and go-to-market strategy for their virtual data room, board, and secure vault products, while leading a small PMM team. It's perfect for a senior PMM who loves building clear narratives across multiple products, establishing best practices, and enjoys hands-on ownership in a remote UK role.

About the role

We’re hiring a Director of Product Marketing (Portfolio Lead) to be the bridge between our products and the market. You’ll own the story and go-to-market for Ideals Virtual Data Room, Ideals Board, and Ideals Vault, and make sure they fit into one clear portfolio narrative. You’ll lead and coach a small PMM team (two people to start), work closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing, and put in place simple standards for how we position, message, launch, and update products. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you’ll write the playbook and run it. This is a fully remote role for candidates in the UK.

Why do we need this role

As we grow into a true multi-product company, we now need:

  • One joined-up story across all products
  • A consistent way to plan and deliver launches and updates
  • A simple, repeatable approach to sales enablement so every team has what they need

We need one clear owner who:

  • Sets the quality bar for product positioning and messaging
  • Brings order and sequence to how we plan releases, updates, and campaigns
  • Makes sure every product fits into a simple, compelling portfolio story

Your work will mean that customers understand our products faster, Sales teams know exactly what to say, and Marketing can run stronger campaigns with less rework. Outcome: more qualified opportunities, higher win rates, stronger cross-sell and expansion, better retention, and faster, cleaner rollouts of updates and new products.

What you will do

Own the portfolio story

  • Shape the overall story for Ideals across VDR, Board, and Vault – how they work together to help customers run high-stakes processes with more control and less stress
  • For each product, define clear positioning and messaging: who it’s for, which workflows it solves, why it’s better than alternatives, and what proof we have
  • Keep these narratives current as markets, regulations, and competitors change, and as we add new use cases and products to the portfolio

Standardise launches and updates

  • Design and run a simple, tiered launch framework (from small enhancements to major releases)
  • Set clear checklists and timelines so Product, Marketing, Sales, and CS know who does what and when
  • Ensure every launch has the basics covered: internal brief, external messaging, pricing/packaging impact, campaign plan, and enablement

Lead and develop the PMM team

  • Manage two product marketers; set goals, priorities, and ways of working
  • Coach the team on research, positioning, writing, and stakeholder management
  • Build a culture of clear thinking, simple language, and bias to action

Turn insight into direction

  • Run regular customer and prospect interviews together with Product, Sales, and CS
  • Own competitive and market intelligence for your portfolio and share concise, practical insight back to teams
  • Feed structured input into product strategy, pricing and packaging, and roadmap decisions

Equip Sales and Customer Success

  • Own the core sales story: pitch decks, one-pagers, talk tracks, battlecards, and objection handling
  • Make sure enablement is easy to find, up to date, and actually used
  • Partner with Sales leadership on training sessions for new offerings, verticals, and plays

Partner with Marketing Campaign and Demand teams

  • Provide sharp product narratives and briefs for campaigns, content, and website updates
  • Validate that campaigns accurately reflect product reality and customer value
  • Measure impact of launches and key campaigns together with Demand Gen and RevOps

What you bring

You don’t need to tick every box, but you should recognise yourself in most of these:

  • Solid experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, including launches and ongoing adoption work
  • Proven track record working closely with Product and Sales to bring products to market and support revenue growth
  • Experience managing or mentoring product marketers, even if in a small team
  • Strong writing skills: you can explain complex products in simple, direct language
  • Comfortable talking to customers and prospects and turning what you learn into clear recommendations
  • Structured thinker who can design frameworks and then actually use them day-to-day
  • Confident working across time zones and cultures in a remote-first environment

Nice to have

  • Experience in secure collaboration, fintech, legal/transaction services, or other high-stakes B2B environments
  • Background in pricing/packaging or solution/portfolio marketing
